Asylum seekers jailed for Brighton Beach rape
Discussion
I'm not really a fan of a single thread with post after post of crimes by migrants or asylum seekers as I can't help think it does a disservice to the victims.
This is absolutely abhorrent.
Three men who raped woman on Brighton beach jailed
Hefty sentences but another crime where the inevitable question is why were these utter horrors allowed to roam around unsupervised?

Because asylum processing in the uk is f
ked, with no political will to address it.
Go full detention until processed and you're accused of being inhumane.
Do anything else and you're accused of being pro-rapist or hating the uk or some such nonsense
Further compounded by nimbyism, and "it should be someone else's problem/responsibility"
And to a lesser extent, some of the shortsightedness in the brexit negotiations haven't helped.

They should be held on army bases imho and not allowed to leave. No passports, know nothing about them but off you go roam the streets. FFS.

I think that's fair.TX.
Nothing wrong with safe good quality basic accommodation but each time I read about one of these awful crimes one of the recurring theme seems to be the complete lack of supervision.

Two of them from Egypt which is a holiday destination not a warzone.
Let’s be honest, the number genuinely seeking asylum is minimal, because if you’re truly threatened in your own country you’d just be overjoyed to make it out to the nearest safe country. The overwhelming majority are economic migrants. gotoPzero said:

Yes I know people are going to start shouting 'internment' but isn't internment in a safe place better than persecution in their home country or living in a tent city with zero cleaning cooking medical or toilet facilities in tent city, Calais? If the life they are leaving is genuinely that s
tty, internment would be a better alternative.Super Sonic said:

True. But we seem to be welcoming lots.
king psychopaths. As for asylum, the recent case in Ireland where a lefty yank woman was murdered by her failed-asylum-seeking boyfriend…. He was seeking asylum from Jordan.
Guess where he fled to after murdering her.
So very much “asylum” is bogus.
Face it, the systems/protocols/facilities we have in place (and not just us in the U.K.) are woefully inadequate for what we’ve been experiencing. And politicians do not seem to be able to figure out what to do. Apart from when it lands on their constituency doorstep. At which point they become remarkably less enthusiastic.

Who's going to supervise 10's of thousands of migrants? This is absolutely abhorrent.

Weed out the fakes. And it's not just fake asylum seekers.
Nobody knows how many visa over-stayers are in the uk for example.
