A friend of a friends family member appears to have fallen badly under the influence of this publication and has been spouting and quoting the total nonsense it purveys. It's quite worrying as they were quite middle of the road and now.... Well lets just say it's not pleasant to talk with them and they are ostracising other family members.

Now I've never seen 'The Light' or a copy, and a quick search didn't turn up any pdf's or copies online I could take a look at.
Wikipedia and Google give the basics but not any examples.

Forewarned is forearmed, and it would be good to know the enemy we are up against.

Has anyone on here had one stuffed through the letter box and that hasn't already gone in the bin.
Could they PM me and perhaps stick it in the post in exchange for a beer voucher?

Thanks

Bill

Is that real or satire?

I'd say satire but I've read the COVID threads on here...

Oh, wait. Hold on guys, I'm not sure we can laugh along at this, or we might be spreading far right propaganda for Putin.

I had one pushed through my letter box a few years ago (not a euphimism), took one quick skim read and put it in the recycling.

If you want to know who it's aimed at, then take a look at the adverts in the back - magic mushrooms, alternative medicines, spiritualists, gold traders and legal 'experts' (no qualifications cited) who will help you write your will to put your property into trust or give you the paperwork to prove you're a sovereign citizen/Freeman of the land.

The "truthpaper" itself is a combination of conspiracy theories, woo, alternative lifestyle bks and other st designed to stroke the egos of people suffering from Dunning-Kruger.

It's not right wing propoganda (although it's amazing how much of the conspiracy nonsense is pushed by the American MAGA far-right), but It's exactly the kind of publication that'll push the anti-semitic 'The protocols of the eldars of Zion' as if it's true - from their June edition :

I did spot something complaining about us not taking any Palestinian refugees (can't be true if that one Gazan bringing a family of 18 is anything to go by) which didn't strike me as sounding very right wing.

It doesn't surprise me, the thing about conspiracy theorists (left or right) is that they can hold multiple conflicting opinions at the same time. rotate

There does seem to be a huge overlap in beliefs between the kind of people who read this paper and the loonier US MAGA crowd, but I put that down to shared stupidity rather than necessarily shared politics.

To be fair and in the interest of Fox News style fair and balanced... the Far Left are equally moronic, it's just that there's so few of them in this country that we barely notice them.
