I’ve a Sony TV and a matching Sony sound bar setup in the TV / cinema room. It’s decent, if not brilliant.

My wife would prefer I bin the subwoofer and rear speakers so I need to get something with a bit more “oomph” from the front.

Any thoughts or advice as to whether this is possible and what I can buy would be appreciated.

And yes, I know I lose a lot going this route.

Without a sub (and maybe without rears) most soundbars aren't going to give you the ooomph you're after

They'll sound good for movies, less so for music. You could get a decent soundbar (Sonos, KEF, Sennheiser) but might not have as much ooomph as a set of floorstanders if you have the space?

This is just for films, we’ve another room for music.

I understand that it’s a big compromise, but, happy wife, happy life
