Not sure if this is in the right section, but:

We’ve been to the Silverstone Festival for the past couple of years. It was ‘OK’, but a bit of a come down after FoS (wasn’t expecting it to compare, but still).

Opinions on this year’s equivalent (in terms of grids) - the BRDC Classic.

Seems like the same F1 and Endurance Legends stuff, with a couple more races and not much more? Is that a fair summary or did I miss something?

We like walking around in the pits, so will probably attend for that, but, as with the FoS after 3 years, I’m getting the feeling we’ve already been there and done that, and it’s a bit like Groundhog Day. Even last year the much vaunted Group C Race was a joke. Possibly with even less this year e.g. no one-off displays like last years 75 years of F1?

I think you need to take the price of tickets for this year's Silverstone BRDC Classic into account, compared to a Goodwood event.

There is already a thread for this event on PH in the Events & Meetings section, but no recent posts:

As a result of buying a club two for one deal, I have a spare weekend ticket for the Silverstone BRDC classic meeting.

I paid £65 for the two weekend tickets so face value of one would be £32.50

(Weekend price from Silverstone is £65. Friday is £20, Saturday and Sunday are £40 each )

Ticketing is digital so you would need to have the Silverstone ticketing app to receive the tickets.

Hi. Yes. Happy to split. The transfer works on the email address that you use to log in to the Silverstone Ticketing App so you'll need to let me know that. My PH account should be set up to receive messages, although I've never tried it.

OP or anyone else going would you be able to come back after the event and give a review? I'm thinking of going next year instead of FOS as it's loads cheaper and closer and so would be interested in hearing people's thoughts.

I'm a big F1 fan so seeing the older F1 cars on track would be great even if they are before I got into the sport in the early 2000's.

There will be no comparison with FoS. Unless you’re almost exclusively into Cosworth powered F1 cars you’ll be left feeling pretty sad at missing FoS.
