Apologies if this is a common question but my 2019 G31 has the active grill which since the heatwave has stayed open. Even if the car has been left for a few days. I presume this is wrong and they are supposed to close? I have gently tried to move them but they are locked open. Same with the bottom bumper grill. There is no dash warning so far. I was wondering is it even bothering getting it fixed or are they working as they should in this hot weather?

Can't be nice to have your flaps stuck open.

I would leave it for a while and check on a colder night in a few weeks.
If its broken they are not cheap parts to replace.

In this weather I'd much rather have my flaps stuck open!

But in the real world they're just something else to go wrong out of warranty that will be expensive to fix. My E87 123d had them but had no temperature gauge, although with an early N47 engine over time it became apparent the cam-chain was a bigger problem - so I sold it.
