Used 2018 iPace with 100k

Hi all

Have seen a few of these around and thinking they look worth a punt for around £10k. The big risk is the battery giving up I guess. Servicing on these is presumably minimal still or not?

Anyone have any experience of higher mileage EVs and whether they've been ok or gone pop. I'll either get it and keep it for years (until it dies), or else keep it for a year or two until my new limited company has sufficient trading history for a company lease.

Interested to hear all your thoughts.

You can get a newer one with fewer miles that still has 2 years and 20k miles of battery warranty remaining for the same price.

Have you done an insurance quote? They seem to have settled a bit but when I looked I was getting bonkers (to me) quotes and using comparison sites had to go a fair way up in price until I got to companies I'd heard of.

Many are waiting to see how the markets take used EVs en-masse as batteries seem to be have improved. To me it's a punt too far with I pace and really binary, you're lucky and get a few years or it's a paperweight and you're trying to maximise scrap value. They are a 1st generation tech, so be wary. My local jlr always has a collection in the corner of their lot presumably under repair

10k sounds rich, maybe at 6k they become a genuine punt. Moon mileage Tesla's seem to retain some value as they're trusted

How many left worth exploring e.g. ipace 8.3k registered in 2020, licensed and sorn 7.6k, so 10% have either scrapped through mechanical failure or maybe accidents??

The I-Pace owner I know mentioned his car's been limited to 90% charge capacity now via an update. I'm unclear whether Jaguar have any intention to perform a fix which would allow this to be restored to 100% for affected cars, or not.

AIUI this is distinct from the 72% limit applied to cars where a battery fault has been detected, which is temporary until the dealership replaced the affected module.


For me the EV is a daily that's meant to be low-hassle, hence swerving the Jag.

Barge pole. Even if the car looks ok can you really have any faith in the dealer network (judging by anecdotes on here)?
