You too????

Have you spoke to Craft? I'm sure Dave could work out a payment plan with you?

This forum is becoming VERY popular... in the most depressing ways possible...

Now, I have always accepted from day one that I will one day have to fork out £5K for my engine to be fixed, and I have, in an odd kinda way been looking forward to it (!!) I always wanted 3.6-4 litre upgrade from TVR Power, but now, there seems to be a sudden proliferation of companies promising the earth when they rebuild your S6.
Being 100% impartial, and only having dealt with TVR Power once, who is really the best at giving you the best long term results, for example, if I have the 4 litre upgrade, are they simply changing like for like, and the future inevitability of failure be ever present?
Or, is a supercharger route the way to go, or just a simple, future proof (as future proof as an engine of this nature can be!) rebuild?

Few speed 6 cars coming out of Crafts premises in the next week or so.

Redesigned components with no expense spared is the only way IMO.

But I also heard a number of TVR Power cars return for repeat rebuilds. JSG can clarify that one, rebuilding an engine to stock is not removing the inherent flaws which cause the engine to fail in the first place. Unless you believe that 50% is driver abuse and 50% is weak components.

Much information available on this forum these days, thanks to Pistonheads, Speed 6 owners can now read through a large database of info and pictures and make their own minds up on what to do when the inevitable takes place...

Chris, I'd say, sell your baby off, add your 5k ontop and pick yourself up a sorted Cerbera 4.5 red-rose and join the 2+2 grand tourer blackpool rocket clan

Cheers , After reading EVERYTHING on the forums, I do worry that if I go the 4 litre upgrade route, I'll just be a 'like for like componant' swap, albeit with the 4litres, I could be wrong, but thats the 'vibe' I get after a thourough P/H search.
I think I'll wait and see how the owners of the Austec and Melling camps start to filter through their thoughts on their rebuilds.
As for selling the Tam for a Cerb! As much as I love the Cerb, I love the stubby little Tam more, it's nigh on perfect for the little twisty roads around here in Glocestershire

My two-penneth worth is that TVR Craft has bought most to the table in the hope of providing a long term solution.

As a previous Tuscan owner, and one who is looking to but one again in the near future, one of my stipulations is that if possible the Tuscan I buy will already have a rebuild. That said however, cars which have been rebuild 10,000 miles ago are still running running. There are also people who have needed a second rebuild within 10,000 miles.

If i was in the rebuild situation again, I certainly would not be putting my money back to TVR if the car has already been rebuilt once.

Ah ha, I see, sorry, very slow! lol No, engine not bust, running as perfect as ever in fact (although still running very rich since the last expensive crappy service!). I just wanted to know from people who know a lot more than myself which is the best long-term upgrade/rebuild option if and when my engine ever gets poorly.

Yes Chris. It would be good to actually meet! (Especially as I have had an affair with your car!)

Roll on next spring!
