Whitbread closing all branded restaurants

Whitbread are existing the restaurant business completely, closing Beefeater, Brewer's Fayre, Table Table and others.
Some will be sold as going concerns to other operators but most are being converted into more rooms for the Premier Inn that's attached while remaining available to hotel guests only I'd guess under some new name.

Table table in Sinfin, Derby has just closed down, believe it's to become a Spoons.
Probably be pretty busy as it's on the ring road and suits me just fine as I do enjoy a Spoons.

Some would do really well as spoons. The rest are on industrial parks out of town so I expect them so be replaced with accommodation or just remain empty until someone wants to give them a new use. te. 21TonyK said:

We've been regulars in our Beefeater for over 30 years so we're going to have to find somewhere new as it's closing and not being taken over. Not a fan of Harvester so some other local will need to be found. We go a lot less since the kids stopped eating from the kids menu anyway but today was £30 for three with the 40% off plus £15 loyalty. Our last ever Beefeater visit

We used to have a Beefeater down the road, very handy. It closed so long ago that we are still angry at "celebrity" chef Brian Turner for poncifying the menu . Sad day as my first ever paid job was bottling up at the Bedford Beefeater 44 years ago.
I stay in PI's twice a month for work and leisure. I always have breakfast if staying for work and only have breakfast 25% of the time for leisure stays.
But I have never eaten an evening meal in any of their sites as it's beige plastic food maybe a step above Wetherspoons. I either eat en route or find a independent restaurant in town.

We went to the Toby Carvery midweek in Denham and it was very good value at under £12 each for the carvery with a choice of 4 meats on offer, drinks also reasonably priced.A bit surprised how many Beefeater locations remained any way
I used to work for a company that had a maintenance contract for Beefeater Pubs in the late '90s. We covered a region that was mostly along the line of the M4 and below, but extended into South London and Kent etc. There were around 200 locations as I recall, let alone the rest of the UK. According to that press release there are only just over 100 now.
