Ha! As someone who would genuinely have bought the A110 SportsX, it's a thumbs up from me.

I'm the opposite. This A110 thing seems as pointless as the 911 Dakar to me.

2-3 years ago, I was talking to the guy who created this car on the French forum FAR Alpine after venting about the fact that Alpine was NOT going to build the Sport X.

He sent me elaborate renderings (which i still have somewhere) and I thought at the time that he was a bit of a dreamer. How wrong was I.

He pushed through and got the car built.

Problem is that the costs involved are well into 6 figures.

I think Facom was involved in the process and paraded the car through various static events in France.

The gentleman who put it together suggested at the time that making this a business proposition awas unlikely as he did not have the time / technical resources to scale it up.

To me, the original a110 was a rally car designed to run on loose surfaces / gravel, so making a 'Dakar' style car made total sense. I hope Alpine sees the light and eventually produces it, even in electric form. Would be unique and am sure would find a sizeable audience.
