The digital oil pressure gauge..996

When you turn the key and it counts down 5 seconds or so,where should the little bar end up ?,and is that the oil level ?

That's the oil level not the pressure. Treat it as you would the dipstick.

it should be at the top ideally.

It should be one bar off the top.... If it's at the very top then you can't see if it's over filled. The two graduations to the side are max and min levels.

Mine is at the bottom bar,Is it easy enough to find where to put the oil in ? , and what oil should I put in it please ?

top, or one off the top for the reasons stated.

Mines at the top coz I've just changed the oil and measured what I put in.

Oil goes in the back in the big yellow cap in the middle facing you with a long, black thick tube attached.

Open the bonnet, it's the big yellow cap. It's either marked OIL or 710 Sorry

There's 1.5 litres from minimum to maximum. Add half a litre at a time. Oil is ACEA A3 specification SAE 10W-40. I believe Mobil1 is the normal recommendation.

I'm sure you'll find its labelled 710

Interesting rating their BlairOut. Got a can of mobil 1 in the office and it says 0W40 rating!

Best advice is look at your last service bill and see what oil your OPC/garage used.

Lifted straight from the manual at my side.

The manual said:

Above -10 oC SAE 5W-30, 10W-30, 0W-40, 10W-40 and higher. Below -10 oC SAE 0W-30, 5W-30, 0W-40, 5W-40. Engine oils approved by Porsche -All oils on the Porsche approval list. - Oils of viscocity 0W-40, 5W-40, 10W-40 and higher if they comply with the ACEA A3 specification. - Oils of viscocity 0W-30, 5W-30, 10W-30 if they are included in the Porsche approval list.

The numbers are a measure of how viscous the oil is. the low number is it's viscosity when cold, the higher one when it's hot. 0W-40 is ideally suited where you get the odd very cold snap as it is thinner at startup. A 0W-40 will take a bit longer to warm up in our regular climate.

I would say it will vary if you park on a slope.... I know there aren't that many in the fens though

No... Apart from slopes, engine temperature also makes a difference. If you try measuring it when it is 'normal' i.e. been for a calm drive its likely to provide a slightly different reading compared to if you have just been out for a high speed blat or trackwork.

I always use the dipstick for measurement but the oil has to be hot to be accurate.
