You're assuming this isn't a deliberate attempt by Reading FC to disentangle itself from the pit of mediocrity that is Reading itself. I mean it's a place that was denied the coveted "Most Boring Town in Berkshire" award because Slough... Exists.

They've got to be over the moon that they've been mentioned in the news at all.
