C7 heads up display - dead spot

During my recent trip in France, my HUD developed a dead spot......it looks like it's a perfect circle of dead space. It was bloody hot out there, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Anyone had this happen? I'm imagining it's not a quick or easy fix?
