Old man wants a Kia Sorento (Or similar)

As per title, my old man wants a plug in hybrid with 7 seat and front runner is the Kia Sorento.

Anything else that's worth a look?

He's also not sure whether to lease/contract hire/PCP or buy outright. Don't suppose there's a calculator anywhere that shows the options and what they cost?

Can't really offer much opinion on vehicle choice in that segment, but in terms of how to pay for it, I think the relevant questions are:
- Does he want to own it, or just have the use for it, or is he undecided?
- How long is he projecting to run the vehicle for before changing it?

I think you are best served to then look at what different deals etc are available, and knock up a spreadsheet of your own. It could be a lease or PCP (intending to hand the car back) stacks up less over X years than the depreciation looks like it'd hit you for if you bought outright. It could be they cost a lot more. Got to run up the real-world numbers as best you can.

If buying outright with a lump some is the preferred option, taking a finance deal to get a particular offer or rebate, and then immediately paying it off, could be the optimal choice.

Certainly, disregard any "ALWAYS buy cars this way" or "NEVER buy cars this way". It's all very very subjective depending on your wants and what's on offer, and some people get oddly ranty about how others choose to acquire their cars.

Santa Fe, basically the same car, tends to be cheaper, at least on the used market.
