canceled sky broadband and tv, where to go?
Discussion
I was being charged 140 a month for sky tv and broadband, no special package as such, Netflix premium, ad skipping and multi room.
When I phoned them the best deal they would offer was still about 15 or so more than being a new customer so in a fit of controlled rage I cancelled
Not so funny now, I am totally unable to register as a new customer and neither is my wife. I guess they have our address. I also assume I can't be a new customer until they receive all their stuff back.
so in a few days we have no internet and everything is f
king internet now....
Anyway, I dont really watch tv but I do like the user interface. The broadband (fibre) also works very well, I can't complain.
Speaking to a few mates they were gobsmacked we paid for tv and I guess they were right, I have managed to get my wife to finally consider not having sky as well (we haven't got much choice at the minute).
So what are people recommending and what are people paying? do I just use Samsung tv plus and then the array of apps on there? and just have whatever as broadband. I see some come with things like sky cinema anyway (not that we had that).
500mb is what we had and was spot on. I have had a look about and tbh they all look quite expensive hence why I just thought id go to sky as a new customer. maybe I still will.

My broadband is with VM, some good deals to be had as a new customer - although I believe their customer service is shocking when it comes time to cancel. Not had that experience myself though (yet!).
I also have an Apple TV 4K and just subscribe to whatever apps I want as and when; I know fire sticks are cheaper but I find them painfully slow and not worth the price.
Edit: I pay £32 for M350 broadband.

Do you really need 500mbs?
We are a family of 3 and have 3 tv,s running netfix etc and all have smart phones and laptops, 30mbs works fine for us, never had a problem, not sure how much we pay but its around £20 a month.
We arent heavy games tho.
I recently discovered my elderly mum was paying bt for their fastest fiber internet that was available in her area, changed supplier to a cheaper slower internet. Saving her almost £100 a month.
She cant tell the difference.
Worth looking at how much you actually use, ive found some vastly overestimate how much they need.
