Outdoor pipe repair - UV damage

The waste pipe from the bathroom sink runs outside and into a drain. It is a south-facing wall so gets a full blast of UV all summer and have disintegrated. Is there any way of repairing this as the inside is all boxed in and tiled. Maybe some kind of sleeve that I can slide in? The pipe is 35mm outside dia, maybe 32mm inside?

Looks like solvent weld, with a joint already on there for 'reasons', like it was cut short?

I'd suspect you only have one 'easy' repair option, assuming it's only the exposed part that's UV damaged - cut it off, chip away around it, fit a joint, then put the rest back on. All while being careful not to push it back.

Or slightly less involved, you *might* get away with cutting and splitting a joint to make a patch piece that can go on without cutting it off. Still need to expose more pipe though.

And next time remember to put some metal paint over it.

And also for next time, never box stuff in in a way you can't get back into!

The pipe in the wall looks to be surrounded by mortar. Try drilling a load of holes in hit, break it out and make enough room to slide a connector on the pipe and go from there; the part in the wall should be sound, not being exposed to UV. I can’t think of anything that would slide inside that wouldn’t be reliant on silicone to make a seal

If it is solvent weld then you might get away with taking a piece lengthways away from some solvent weld pipe to reduce the diameter. Put some solvent weld along the cut, clamp together temporarily with jubilee clips and then solvent weld into the existing having trimmed it off at the wall. Then the reverse to get back out to the correct diameter.

I doubt the solvent weld will hold the seam without jubilee clips, so you'll need to be prepared and work quickly.

That's what I'd try, but knowing I may well end up taking out a load of mortar to do it a different way.

These plastic waste pipes disintegrate inside as well, so the rest of the pipe might be fragile. Also there are different sizes, nothing is standard so make sure you get the right replacements.
