2000 GT3.... value?

If its RHD MKI and completely standard 'comfort' spec I would guess at around £45k. There is a (very cheap) 2003 MKII comfort GT3 in the pistonheads classifieds for £53k. I get the impression that comfort spec GT3s are harder to sell because most people want to track them hence want bucket seats, cages and harnesses. At least I *hope* thats the case otherwise the prices have fallen through the floor!

I would agree with above.

I would say £45k would be trade sale price though, maybe £42-43 private sale.

I don't know that background, but what would a good C2 of this spec be worth ? £46+ ?
Add the GT1 based engine block, GT3 brakes, adjustable suspension, and it seems an absolute bargain.

Worth buying as a fun car for the spring ?

Im guessing a C2 would be worth a LOT less if it was the same age. As you say, the GT3 has different brakes, suspension, no electronic gizmos etc plus the engine in a GT3 is over £28k plus the 'box (and 2nd hand engines are rare as rocking horse pooh ) hence I doubt it would be practical to transplant an engine and box to a C2...

I don't think that was what he was implying.

In short, the estimate for the c2 value is too high. I reckon mid 30s is more accurate.

But mid 30's for a two year old C3 with 6k on the clock must surely be too low ?

So we split the difference at £40k, which I reckon would still be very cheap.

An extra £13k for a GT3 ?

Maybe yes if that's what the market says, but my local OPC has cleared at least three GT3's and two GT3 Rs' at high prices over the last three months. So the market has some life in it ...
