Pyrenees (Spain/France) start of October weather

Has anyone done this in early October before? Can I expect mild dryish weather or may it suffer snow on the tops/rain?

I spent three weeks around Tremp / La Pobla doing university fieldwork in the last week of September and early October weeks. Warm in the middle of the day, but the sun didn't rise until 9am and it was very cold before the sun came up. In the last week we were there it snowed. This, according to the locals, was not uncommon.

The roads are epic but you are planning for too late in the year.
