Best way to visit Barcelona with a bike
Discussion
I’m heading for the Pyrenees at the moment and thinking of spending a couple of nights near Barcelona while in the area. If I stay in the city I’d want a hotel with secure parking. So far the hotels that ChatGPT have suggested just have discounted rates for underground public car parks.
I generally prefer to stay in an Airbnb on the outskirts and use public transport. So far I’m just coming up with either flats in the suburbs that have street parking, or places out of the towns that are too far away to walk to trains or busses.
Has anyone that’s visited Barcelona on a bike got any tips, suggestions or advice?

I visited there 3 years ago on my bike but was staying quite a few miles away from the city. All I can say is there was no problem with parking right in the middle of the city. If you decide not to commute on public transport look on Google maps to see where all the other bikes park first. Security wise, watch out for pick pockets, they are rife there.
Stayed here twice both times on the bike, they have thier own underground parking area - extra charge.
only used it because of the secure parking.
Comfy, close to La Rambla and other local stuff,

Thanks. Just checked their website and no parking at Chic and Basic Reding now. They do at the Velvet hotel though, so will check it out when I know what dates I need.only used it because of the secure parking.

We did an overnight in Barcelone in June. This place had underground parking, although they still advised locking the bikes.

Public transport to the centre is probably easy, we just grabbed taxis as there was three of us, worked out cheap and convenient.
Roof top pool was a highlight

Cheers. Looks like a good shout.
Currently in Pau and heading into the Pyrenees tomorrow. Now not sure whether to just stay in the Pyrenees riding both French and Spanish sides and calling into Andorra rather than going to Barcelona now. I’m going to see how it pans out before making a decision. 38C today so we’re keeping the mileage down as it’s pretty tiring. Only fixed date now is being in the Gironde in 10 days as we have something booked.
