A 1998 engine would be the Serpentine type engine so some comparison checks would be needed to see if they're the same.

Yep good shout, the front of the sump is apparently different on serp engines.

Have you definitely got a pre serp engine in there?

Although the rimmer bros list the same looking sump for 1983 so I know nothing..
