GT3 Mk2 - help please

I have just put a deposit on a Mk 2 GT3 from OPC Reading - always wanted one and really looking forward to it. Can anyone give me some advice on things to check and ask about before I hand over the final cheque and take delivery? For example:
Tyres: the ones fitted have little tread on outside edges but a lot in the main centre grooves -OPC say this is normal for these tyres?
Rev range print out - Someone said this is worthwhile getting - what should I check for?
Anything else?

You want rev range 2 on the printout. Ideally it should have a value of 0 or otherwise the engines been overrevved and you'd want to know how that would impact their warranty.

Dunno on the tyre wear front.

If the car's set up right you should get pretty good even wear - I do. I'd ask for a new set.

Could someone explain this Rev Range 2 thing?
Surely it is only possible to overrev by changing down inappropriately?
Or is this something to do with taking it beyond the guidelines while the car is running in?

Its the result of mis-shifting.

In addition to the above I would:

- ask for the Porsche GB printout of the car; should set out chassis nos, options fitted and most importantly whether any bodywork has been repaired (assuming this was done at an official repairer)

- check the brakes discs (assuming these are steel) for signs of cracking around the holes. Cracks are normal if the car has been tracked, less so if it has not. Nothing to worry about, but the discs should be replaced if the cracks are over 7-8mm, so if they are long on the car you are looking at, ask for new discs

- check the clutch operation on a test drive. If there is any judder during take up this is potentially the sign of "hot spots" on the clutch surface - it will need replacing

- ask them to show you / confirm there are no oil leaks from the engine casing. Leaks are rare on the GT3 engine, but they can happen. Worth having fixed.

Good luck - the GT3 is a great car and extremely strong and reliable if well maintained.

Many thanks to you all for your advice - guess I should have done this before putting down a deposit!
I only went in for a test drive - before I knew it I was in heavy negotiation! At least I managed to knock £3.5K off the asking price!
The test drive was very interesting - done with a technician as the sales guys aren't allowed to drive in the GT cars(!?) He was very informative about the car, and said he thought it was a good one.

If the discs have any cracks, I would insist on replacement.. they will not argue for safety reasons.!

If any part of tyre has less than 4mm, then they should replace as well.

Hmm not sure I believe that about the sales staff. At West London they have weekend staff for test drives to save time of the salesmen. East London, the sales chap just came out with me.
