Hi All,

I've got an original 4L Tuscan which I've owned for about 5/6 months. Recently the hazard warning lights and fog lights seem to be coming on of their own accord. For example today I was just driving along a few times and pop there they go. If you click the button twice they turn off again. Can't seem to figure out what triggers it :-(

Unfortunately this "quirk" has got more troublesome... this afternoon I had to get the nice AA man round because this happened while the car was in the garage and the battery had completely drained. I didn't think this could happen without the keys in the ignition, but then again its not supposed to happen without clicking the button either so who knows.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Cheers,
Mark

I had all manner of wierd things going on in my car due to damp getting into the car and the fusebox terminals all being corroded. As a result of various dodgy earths and feedback paths, things like the alarm would go off, headlights would come on of their own accord, and at the final straw (before taking it to the dealer, handing keys over and asking for it to be "sorted" the ignition came on, effectively locking me out - not good in the pouring rain in a car park in the lake district.

Check for damp around the driver side carpets, and under the dashboard and round the fuse/relay panel. If it gets damp there it can take weeks to dry, and appears to be able to cause havoc.

BTW, any idea what the battery is? I have a feeling mine is now jiggered (been flat for about 4 days now) and don't fancy paying £70 from TVR if it is just a standard battery that I can get from any motor shop.

The battery is a large capacity one and has different mountings to others with same model number. I looked around for one but the dealers were about the same price as anywhere else.
