2012 Focus 1.0 EcoBoost Manual (110k miles) - 1st to 2nd Gear Crunch After New Clutch
Hi all, looking for some advice on whether this is worth fixing or moving the car on.
I had a new clutch fitted about 6 weeks ago. Ever since, it crunches every time I shift quickly from 1st to 2nd gear under acceleration. It never did this before the new clutch was installed, and all other gear shifts feel fine.
So far, the clutch has been bled a few times and the cables have been adjusted. The garage says the clutch installation itself is fine and suspects it's an internal gearbox issue (synchro).
Given the car has 110k miles, but has had both a new clutch and the wet belt replaced in 2024, I’m torn on whether to keep it or sell it. Has anyone experienced a similar issue after a clutch replacement ?

Have you tried googling the gearchange cable adjustment procedure for the car?
I ask because I had a v50 with exactly that problem that got worse after a few weeks (it was stood for a while before I bought it) and it cured the problem.
IIRC it was something like put the car in neutral, undo a clip on the cable free end, do it back up again, it would have been a 2 min job except it was under the battery!
