Waterproof overtrousers - which ones are good?

We're getting to that time of year again where commuting is often done in the rain. My (textile) jacket is adequately waterproof but I have always found that trousers leak in the end. I have a 60-75 minute commute so I'm in the wet for some time, and a good chunk of it is motorway so I get blasted like a jetwasher. I have a laminated set of textiles, but they still leak, and I don't really want to spend a grand on some Rukka stuff.

I don't mind spending a minute to pull on overtrousers if it means I stay dry. I'd also quite like something with a high waistband, so water doesn't come in under the jacket - usually as well as the crotch area, I find my stomach area often gets wet as I have a fairly long-torso/short-leg build so the jacket tends to fall an inch or two shorter than ideal.

Anyone got any recommendations?

Not designed for biking but I have a pair of Rab Kangri GTX trousers (70D 3-Layer Gore-Tex) they have full-length two-way AquaGuard side zips that enable you to easily put them on over bike boots. They're probably four years old and used for other outdoor stuff, never leaked on bike or on Dartmoor etc.

Mine are 'ladies' as I'm cheap, they were £80 in a sale and the wider hips work well with hip pads, honest...

I was very pleased with an Oxford rain seal jacket & trouser combo. Wore it last September over my leathers, on the R1, for my ( ill fated ) trip to Paris. Wind proof & water proof, think the pair were under £50 quid.
The only downside was no exterior pockets in the jacket, but excellent value.
