Well a sequel has been talked about, but never anything more than that. After 36 years I think it’s probably okay to call it unexpected (unless you’re Tom Cruise or his agent of course)

Clearly playing on the massive success of top gun maverick.
But the character development that happened in that was insanely good I fail to see how they can match it.

It's been talked about for years and given the success of Top Gun Maverick are we really saying no one saw this coming? It was basically one of the first things I said to Mrs geeks after we finished TG Maverick

Clearly people don’t understand the difference between a rumour and an actual announcement.

I too discussed the possibility of a days of thunder sequel many times over the years.

Tom Cruise and Anne Hathaway standing in front of a race car moves it on a bit.

I won’t start a thread about Nobody vs John Wick (something else that’s been speculating about for a while) until it’s announced though, although when it is I’m sure many will say they have known it’s a fact for years….

I don’t suppose you know next weeks lottery numbers do you?

I suppose the USP for this one could be AH is the talented driver battling to make progress in a sexist, male-dominated sport. If 60 year old Pitt can do it in F1, AH can do it in Nascar.

well it looks like Maverick sorry, Cole Trickle is back for a sequel in '28 - for better or worse. I can't say that it's ever a film I thought, "...I haven't seen that for a while, definitely need a re-watch..." (unlike Top Gun), but here we are

Apparently, Hathaway is a team owner. Presumably, Cruise will be brought back in driving capacity,.

I just hope that they don't just rip off the premise of Top Gun Maverick or, even worse, the F1 movie (good though those films were) and have Cruise as this 60-something driver who comes back to "teach the kids a thing or two"....

Cruise will be 66 in 2028.....

The F1 movie isn't far off a remake of Days of Thunder anyway, there's scenes in it all but directly ripped off from DoT.
