As you do, I often have a look at the classifieds and keep half an eye on the value of my V12VS.

Just noticed how few are actually for sale at the moment.

Only 2 on Auto Trader, and here on PistonHeads just 3 coupes and 2 roadsters.

Is demand starting to pick up, or are owners simply hanging onto them?

Either way, that must be about the least choice I’ve seen for a long time.

When I was doing my insurance renewal, prices seem to have softened a bit over the past couple of years. If you’ve got one, why would you sell?

That changed recently, Im sure I looked a few weeks back and there were 2-3x as many V12VS for sale....still not very many in the big scheme of things .

When you consider there were approx 1650 odd total V12VS made and shipped globally to find just a few for sale in the UK must mean owners are hanging on to them ...myself included smile

It’s the same situation with the original six speed cars too. Summer usually sees an increase in used supply but it hasn’t really happened this year, and the few cars that have appeared for sale have had strong asking prices. I guess people are holding on to them as noted above and I’ve also noticed there are very few of the “last” 2022/2023 cars for sale too. BRM.

I nearly bought an alloro green V12VS in 2025. It was 7k miles and £131k from works. They agreed £128,500 but would move no more. String money but a lovely car.

I’m not sure the manual S has moved much in price when I look back at that. The 6spd has firmed up into the 80-90k mark when you could get them 60-70k.

Wonderful things

The 7k ex-Livanos car? That would have been March 2024, it ended up with me. Won’t be coming back on the market!

Value for money there just can’t be much that compares to a v12v 6 or S 7 speed. Just so compelling, great to drive, not crazy costly to run, insure or service and maintain. Are a huge bargain.

Why sell.. the cost step change into the obvious candidates like a GT3 just doesn’t add up for me at least.

And they are creeping up in value so that’s a bonus along the way.

I really want a (manual) GT8 to sit along side mine, and they likewise have all disappeared.

Yup for I think the first time in years.
There is /was one for sale at £174k with 56 miles on from new which has been for sale for literally years at different places.
The last one that was sold was with a couple of thousand miles on which went for I think £160k ?
As there are only around 70 ish manuals in the UK not surprising.

Noticed that. Would like to get an idea of the value of mine but nothing is coming to market to benchmark it against

V12 6 Speed Manual Roadster? Reassurance I am not sat on a depreciating asset would be great but with nothing advertised have no clue

Owning an Aston Martin which happens to be a depreciating asset are usually two things which go hand in hand… wink
All joking aside, the example you bought earlier this year is rather sublime, well specified, and is in a desirable unusual colour too. So even though there are currently no cars for sale and therefore no valuation benchmark, I think you should be able to rest easy for now. BRM.

Meanwhile, recently in the US

3,800-Mile 2017 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S 7-Speed manual $303000 before fees.
900-Mile 2017 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S (Auto) $130000 before fees.
2011 Aston Martin V12 Vantage 12k Miles, 6-Speed Manual $203000 before fees.

Incredible how much more manuals command. Same with V8s.

Double the price just because they think the other is a slushbox - the Americans really do fetishise manual transmissions. Mind you, I suppose it's an effective anti-theft device biggrin

Chesby.

I bought my 7 speed dog-leg coupe in May 2017. It became Sevenoaks demonstrator when the guy that had ordered it learned from his wife’s solicitor that he was getting divorced. It was registered in November 2017 had the sports pack and lightweight seats. With 3000 miles on it I paid £132,800.

Today it has 24,000 miles on it and it looks like it would retail for about £125k.

Now I’ve been told by lots of people that it’s a great investment and will go up in value significantly. Not so far and I’m not planning to ever sell.

I've had a couple, and recently sold a V12V Manual, 1 previous owner. It was a fantastic car, and will be a joy for the next keeper. Everyone always tells me how good it will be as an investment and it was a mistake to sell. For me, I've always bought my cars to enjoy and take a view that it's a bonus if it increases in value. Whilst they have risen this year and there's very few ads around, I also remain cynical that the ads which were visible a month ago have all sold (there was more than 20 cars listed at one point). I suspect many have expired, weren't genuine anyhow or people gave up as it had been sat for a while. Whilst some definitely sold, there's equally some cars which have sat for 6+ months.
I believe auction prices remain about the same. However I don't believe auctions are kind to v12v given the seemingly minor items which are often overlooked on listings can easily add up to significant cost to rectify. Naturally, I don't think it's a good format to adopt unless it's a distressed sale. Any good car priced well will sell as the demand remains strong. They're wonderful things and very special cars. That said, they like to be used and all the problematic examples seem to be garage queens IMO
