....however they are a lot smaller than I anticipated!

It was early this morning whilst I was rummage around with my hands underneath the large overhang of my Castanea sativa that I first became disillusioned.

I compared them with my mates and disappointingly his are a similar size.

Has anyone else noted this, or is it just me?

Shouldn't worry too much about their size, at least they're forming which is the all important thing. I don't reccomend that you keep comparing them to your mates if I was you, it will only need to unnecessary worry for you. Just make sure they have plenty of water, sun light and whilst they're at this young, tender vunerable time....don't expose them to frost/north..n.easterly wind, failure to treat them well will lead to them shrivelling up and perish. You could try talking to them (it works for some people)
Just let nature take its course, given time things will develope and your pride and joy will give you much satisfaction and pleasure for many years to come.
Just a final thought, it may well be advantageous for growth to add some chicken manure around the base.

It was early this morning whilst I was rummaging around with my hands, hungover from my Cannabis sativa that I first became disillusioned.
