Axle stands on outriggers?

Is this ok? Or is it a no-no?

I allways put my stands on the main chassis runners in the centre.Saying that though, you can lift the cars weight at the outrigger(although I lift mine right at the corner) so as long as the stand doesnt foul the body work then I dont see why you couldnt.
I personally feel alot safer on the main runners though.

Generally agree with BB, but any point that is effectively is a jacking piint should be ok, (eg the outriggers aft of the front wheels and fore of the rear wheels. I wouldn't use the outrigger along the side under the door though

A good rule of thumb for these chassis is that it is generally OK to put jacks and stands on square tubes but generally not OK on round ones.

The outriggers are round tube, tend to suffer from corrosion, and not very strong in the first place. When they're sound you will probably get away with jacking the car by the lateral outrigger supports if you use a load spreader, but eventually as corrosion takes its toll you will find they weaken to the point that you damage them. By the time you find out it's too late of course, the damage is done.

Jacking from the longitudinal outrigger tubes that run under the sills is out of the question, don't even think about it.

Got it on two 8x8 x24 inch blocks of wood now, under the middle main frame.
