Looking at DB7s for sale
Discussion
Hi Im in the market for a DB7 Vantage (pref Volante) Ive found a couple of cars that are not too far away from me and wondered if anyone had viewed either or even better if any previous owners were on this forum? They all have service history and have been described as nice examples etc? Any information on any of them would be greatly received many thanks

Can't comment on the cars, but Chiltern Jaguar is where I got my XK 4.2 a few years ago. I found they asked about £1,000 over the odds, but the car was well prepped. They refuse to negotiate on price but swapped the veneer with another car that had nicer grain, which I was happy about. A couple of months after purchase the starter motor failed; I got the AA to trailer it back and they fixed it and gave me a loan car in the meantime. So better than some other dealers I would say.
My heart goes for the blue convertible, my head says none of them but if I must then the silver coupe.
I did a little bit of research in the past about common problems with these and I'm sure I was put off by what I found, especially the dreaded V12 tick.
Could be overblown as usual but better sure than sorry I went for a Vantage V8 roadster.
Good luck

Hi thank you for your replies, looking at the road tax, mot history it looks like the 3 cars have been on sale or off the road for a while? I have had a DB7 volante and a GTA all though it was 20 years ago now! I like my classics and think these have aged really well and with a good service history and find a nice example I think they look good prospect for mid to late teens. Im surprised all three have not sold, is the car market that quiet at the minute!? The crazy thing is Ive emailed all three and up to now no one has been back on. I eventually rang one of them myself to try and get some info, I only live 40 minutes away my plan was to go and view etc.
Yes would look at DB9, again Its finding a genuine car with a good history? I think the early DB9's have a tick noise issue , tbh I think its the same on late 03/04 DB7s. I would not rule out a V8 vantage manual too!? I just like the idea of a DB7 as I think its a bit more of a classic now and I was hoping that for the price point I could find a nice example?
