8 yr old Golf and servicing/warranty

I have a 2018 Golf (1.4 TSI), owned from 3 yrs old and always been main-dealer serviced and during the first two years of ownership included warranty.
As the car is now 8 years old, the main dealer can still offer a basic service plan of a major and minor service plus MOTs but not a warranty ( I would need to arrange separately with VWFS UK I think).
I am mulling what to do next, the main dealer is not too far which is convenient but these service plans are now north of £700 and not quite the VFM they once were.
The big risks (IMO) are the DSG or engine going kaput but I tend to do low mileage (5/6k annually and currently less than 50k on the clock) albeit lot of shorter journeys which probably isn't the best for longevity.
I am happy with the Golf, it's somewhat boring but does a lot of things well, reasonable space for a hatch, punchy engine and excellent ride....more space and power would be nice of course!
Any thoughts on whether continuing main dealer servicing and buying a VW warranty is worthwhile?

I just renewed my Transporter and my wife's Tiguan - both just turned 3 years old.
For 12 months cover -
£334 for the Transporter with £250 excess
£235 for the Tiguan with £250 excess
Both are 4-Motion and DSG, expensive to fix if there's an issue.
I could have taken out the All in One, but for no particular reason I just extended the warranty.
On my old Transporter the All in One covered 2x services, 2x mot's, 2 year warranty (I had a central locking mechanism, instrument binnacle and front crank seal) - the All in cost was around £900, I had at least double that in warranty claims.
Oil leaks aren't covered, I had to get a bit feisty with my local dealer who initially tried to swerve the crank seal.
I have another VAG group vehicle coming up to 3 years old shortly, that's in excess of £3k for 12 months.
For 12 months cover -
