My 2026 ISA allowance has been used.

I'm currently putting money into "invest" on T212.

When the time comes in April 2027 to add another £20k to my ISA , can i move it within the app from Invest to ISA

Or do I need to sell the funds in Invest , withdraw the cash , and then deposit into ISA section.

I hold the same VWRP in both the ISA and Invest if that makes any difference. Simply need to get them under the wrapper of a ISA.

T212 makes it fairly clear: https://helpcentre.trading212.com/hc/en-us/article...

One reason will be your holdings in the Invest account are subject to CGT, so you can't just move them without recording a gain or loss.

So I assume this means I would need to sell them, and then move the cash across to ISA , and then purchase again?

Exactly - but you'd only need to sell up to the ISA allowance limit, obviously. So if, say, you have £40k in the Invest account, then you'd only need to sell £20k of your Invest holding. Then you'd have £20k in cash which you'd use for your 27-28 Shares ISA.

NB: currently, the capital gains tax-free allowance is £3k per tax year.

And unless you sell more than £12k worth (4x the CGT allowance), you don't need to report it to HMRC, if the profit is within the CGT allowance, assuming you have no other CGT liabilities.

You also do not have to worry about bed and breakfast rules if buying the same shares that you sold if in an ISA.

I would be selling £20k worth but the gain would be well under £3k.

Would this need reporting?

I wasnt aware of any £12k rule so will google.

Ideally i want not to have ti report anything to HMRC so if there is limits in place ill rethink my plan.

I can see mention of what your refer to here

https://taxbull.co.uk/blog/do-i-need-to-report-cap...

But Gov website seems to suggest £50k threshold?

Nope, it is 4x the CGT allowance that needs reporting, wins or losses.

I think that govt website might be a little bit out of date and maybe going back to the £12.3k allowance of 2022.

The link you posted is correct.

According this Gov page the £50k reporting limit still applies, not 4 x the current AEA:

Seems you are correct and i apologise for giving the wrong information and sorry for any confusion, hope I haven't cause you any stress D8MOK. This is why you shouldn't believe everything that is written on the internet.

Clearly states 50k, so that is the figure.
