USB boot up issues

Had my machine for a couple of years with no issue, all my PC's are always flaky around USB ports and finding devices at times, it is really annoying. If I move anything around it will struggle until it settles down.
But recently moved house and have had to use a wireless dongle instead of a wired RJ45 connection, goodness me has it caused issues.
For a start why are USB ports so bloody useless, why are there about 5 different types, why does plugging a thing into a port always seems to cause an issue. Surely if the keyboard was in a port, if I move it to another port it should be bloody fine!!
And why on earth should this affect the machine booting up,. I get a whirly waiting icon at times and the machine just goes completely dead.
Surely a wireless dingle should not cause this much issue, is there anything I can do to fix this?

USB does not do this on any machine I have. You just plug something in and it works, be that windows, linux or android. I would suggest you have hardware issues. Plugging any USB device into any version of USB should be fine, they are all compatible. The only issue stopping something working are drivers, but for the likes of a keyboard this should not be an issue, if it works on one port it should just swap to another without issues.

Unlikely to be interference. Make sure your Windows 10 installation is fully updated (including the optional updates / drivers).
Power it all down. Rub all the USB cable connectors with some Isopropyl alchohol.
Reboot. Report back ?
