Athletes/sportspeople swearing on TV

Now I don't mind a bit of potty mouth, I often have one myself as do many people.
Why is it that broadcasters insist on interviewing someone who is within minutes of losing an important race/game/event and highly emotional? Then have to apologise for a potty mouth, what did you expect?
2 recent cases of potty mouth for me, Mark Selby after losing in the final of the last tournament and Keely Hodgkinson after losing last night.
