Well

Today has been a particularly ste day, exactly 12 months after my Mum passed away today we had to have our beloved dog put down.

Poor little fella had a tumour which was bleeding internally and was looking more and more forlorn.

First time in nearly 14 years, apart from kennels when he has been looked after by others, he hasn’t sat next to me leaning against me on the sofa.

Bloody heart broken.

Here’s a few pictures of best doggo ever, the Bobster.

he liked a Guinness

It really is heartbreaking when you lose a dog. But the time you have with them makes it worthwhile.

You have my sympathies...it's bloody tough.

I am so sorry to read this. What a gorgeous looking dog, was he a Corgi cross?

What a lucky boy he was to have found and been loved by you. Thinking of you and your family.

Yes Corgi something/ some other things.

Dogs Trust special but always great with our kids and any visitors including other young kids.

I used to tell everyone he was a Lancashire Healer.. I am not sure he was but he was a very loveable character, always friendly but with a slight huffy attitude.
When I went to the office instead of working from home with him in his dog bed behind me, he would sit with his back to me for an hour before he got closer before giving in and sitting on the sofa leaning on me for the rest of the evening.

Rest in peace Bobert. Sorry for your loss OP, dogs are wonderful creatures and as another poster said they don't live long enough.

A life without pain is a life without love. It's hard but worth it I guess after some time passes.

2 years down the line and I still miss our cat.

Thanks folks, yes he was a lovely chap and it’s better to have loved and lost and all that.

Our other doggo is wanting lots of snuggles as she clearly misses him. She’s 8 ish, also a rescue, and has never known a time with us without Bobsy.

My daughter and wife have been swapping photos of Bobsy on the family WhatsApp which has made me smile and laugh. Focusing on happier times reminds us of all the enjoyment he experienced and bought so it feels a little less painful today.

Thank you all the messages.
