Anyone any experience of what info a phone provider can give of previous incoming calls and texts to a mobile?

A relative has told her parents that she's had some unpleasant phone calls and messages, believed to be from someone she has fallen out with at college, but she has deleted them from her phone.

Are EE likely to provide them a list of phone numbers that have called/texted her over a specified time period, so they can see if they recognise the numbers?

Seems unlikely.

If I wanted to make abusive phone calls to somebody, I'd change my settings so that my number was not displayed to the receiver. I'd be a tad upset if the network then told them what my number was.

If they've stopped - does it matter? And if they haven't stopped - they'll be able to check the numbers next time (assuming it's not hidden)

They may be able to recover deleted text messages on their phone.

Have them search online for the process for their iPhone or Android model.

If they've already done this to no effect there's zero chance of EE providing them unless the police request them.

I would imagine that the first problem would be that you’re actually asking the telecoms provider for someone else’s data, which would create GDPR hurdles and the like.

It potentially would be doable with a court order. But you’d never get one I wouldn’t have thought.

You have no chance, I used to do it using proper legal authorities and the process wasn’t simple even then and required high level authorities.

In addition network providers would never guarantee the information relating to historical incoming calls because it was activity originating outside of their billing for that customer.

Look at the bill. If they have itemised billing, the number will appear on that, even if they've deleted it.

Check the deleted messages folder.

My iPhone will retain them for 30 days before permanently deleting them.
Not sure about Android but I would expect it to be similar.

Yeh, I suppose the bill would only itemise outgoing calls and texts?

I haven't had anything to do with this for around 20 years, it was landline related rather than mobile, and related to a Government entity receiving malicious calls but...

We informed the police, they told us that we had to inform the network provider, and where possible give them approximate dates and times of the calls, so that they could make sure any records they did have were protected.

We then informed the police that we'd spoken to the network provider and the police then spoke to the network provider to receive the data. The network provider separately asked if we'd like any suspected malicious numbers blocking, but did so without informing us what those numbers were.

It was made quite clear throughout that the network provider wouldn't provide any information directly to us.
