Mrs Goingonholiday and I have a weekend in London coming up. We're thinking of a meal at Hawksmoor Air St followed by cocktails. Any recommendations for a cocktail bar or a rooftop bar nearby?

The Donovan Bar is nearby for classic London hotel bar vibes and amazing cocktails. Home of Salvatore Calabrese, a legend who invented the Breakfast Martini.

We love the Duck & Waffle cocktail bar, 40th floor of 110 Bishopsgate (near Liverpool St) - time it for sunset and it's amazing.

The Hawksmoor in Covent Garden has a much nicer atmosphere. It's called Hawksmoor Seven Dials, in Langley St.

You could enjoy a cocktail in the American bar at The Savoy (not rooftop) and then walk up there.

On Saturday I was around Old Street. Had 2 4 1 cocktails in a place called Old Street records which was decent value and a good range. Had a decent band on too.

After we went to Swift, which was a jump in cost but also quality, some of the best I've had in a long time. Had an Irish coffee at one point, on the recommendation of the barman and it was amazing.
