Someone has sent my wife an email saying my son was up to no good on a night out. Can we go to the police about this? She thinks MI5 may take the case on.

Reads like you need to speak to a solicitor sharpish, not some randoms on the internet.

Top lurking by the way.

Does it give more detail than "he was up to no good" ?

Was he on a night out? Was he up to no good?

The Police may look into it under malicious communications but they may also want to look at the email and check the validity of the content and if he was up to no good it may come back to bite him.

Either way it's unlikely they will give much priority to one email unless there more to it.

Have you checked with your son if he was on a night out and if he was up to no good on the date in question? If he says he wasnt then i'd just ignore it (assuming you trust your son more than a randomer sending an email smile )

Well it is within the realms of possibility that he was "up to no good", i know i was at times, so just interrogate him severley before you go anywhere else with this.

Were there a couple of guys who were up to no good,
had they started making trouble in the neighbourhood?

Yep, M15 have a whole department of guys just sitting about waiting to deal with this kind of thing.

If the person has your wife's email address, she must know them? Maybe pussy burgers are being ordered behind your back, so I would just speak to them/ knock the st out of them. (delete as applicable).

Excellent lurking, even better trolling.
