I'm am staring with a new company and need to choose an EV as a company car, max budget £52,000. Main criteria is motorway comfort, range and space.

I look forward to some suggestions, I appreciate it can be subjective on personal preference.

The 52k is ambiguous. Is that p11d price or a sum based on extra salary?

Will it be lease (pers/comp), salsac, outright buy?

Any of the new SUVs such as ford explorer/capri, kv3, Tesla MY, Skoda Enyaq/Elroq, Renault scenic. Test drive all of these and decide for yourself

Model Y Long Range Premium RWD

Loads of space, the new ones have far better suspension and sound insulation, 380 miles of range, chargers everywhere, enough left in your budget to pick your exterior and interior colour.

Options at that price, which meet motorway comfort, range and space

- Tesla Model Y Long Range Premium RWD
- MG S6
- MG IM5 or IM6
- Smart #5
- Kia EV5 or EV6
- Skoda Enyaq
- Peugeot 3008
- VW iD.7

I like my Polestar 2. I have a long range dual motor, which has enough range for me. The long range single motor has more range and is still fairly quick. All currently available at < 50k including Prime pack.

Not particularly spacious though?

Yep - I had a Polestar 2 for three years , Front cabin space is a bit cramped and rear leg room is pretty bad.

Haven't found it lacking, to be honest, but these things are relative.

Why that model instead of the dual motor (AWD) version which is £52k?

Though the importance of this depends upon how much you care what JayEmm thinks. Unfortunately I can’t take more than about 30 seconds of him, so I’m not sure what his gripes are. Other reviews have said it’s more of a cruiser and doesn’t hold together as a b-road blaster, is it that?

I can only answer queries such as yours this way:
Do some Google research and return with a shortlist. With the best will in the world, we don't know all of your wants, needs, likes, dislikes and expected ownership period.
Following the above will avoid discussions concerning cars that aren't in the running.

I'm sure you do, and he's not the easiest watch, but his video was interesting with his biggest gripe being the handling/ride whether at low or high speeds. He found the doors to be clever but incredibly awkward too.

Granted I didn’t opt for one, HOWEVER this former Tesla-sceptic, with similar considerations to yours, was converted after a test drive of a Model 3 RWD. It (and, I’d imagine, the Model Y too) was a great car: comfy, quiet, drove nicely, plenty of space (both real and perceived, thanks to the glass area), tech that worked etc. and everything is already known about their range, efficiency and battery durability. Well worth a look.

The only thing you may need to be mindful of (given the reference to motorway) was the so-so adaptive cruise and lane-steering, which may soon be dropped entirely as Tesla roll-out the £99/month “Full Self-Driving” package.
