Well my N18 R56 is deciding to be a R56 so it's going tomorrow, my dilemma is what to replace it with. My requirements are something that will get me across the city for work, be mildly entertaining when I want it to be and be mildly dog friendly.

Normally I buy sheds and keep them until the invertible happens, my cheap N14 clubman lasted for 5 or 6 years with regular maintenance but I've only gotten two years out of the N18 with a bucket load of receipts.

With this in mind I'm thinking of upping the budget to around 5 or 6K and getting something less troublesome. Having a look around it looks like I could get a standard well equipped Cooper quickly or a Cooper S if I travel. Early Cooper S's seem to have a few issues so I'm wondering if others have made a similar change and regretted it?

I'm of course open to other options if anyone has any opinions?

Slightly alternative choice, but an i3 might be fun if you can charge it and live with the range?

I'd get it if I could charge at home but it's not an option, although not sure I'd want to deal with the suicide doors again, found them more annoying than useful
