80k max budget

Considering 2021 Vantage vs 2017/18 db11 vs p575 2024 f type or maybe a gts 4.0. Anything Im missing? Would probably value GT over pure sports, perhaps a wildcard like a 2013 vanquish but all the old AM threads seem to end up with big bills…

That budget would get you a nice DBS. There's one for sale near me with 11000 mile on that's within a good negotiation of £80k.

The VH platform Vanquish as per Rodders above was the first thing to spring to mind and I'd definitely have one over the later Vantage or DB11.

I know someone who used to work at AM and they said they wouldn't own an older car (pre-Stroll era).

Ferrari would be nice, but the maintenance on actually using it might be....interesting for what would fall within budget.

I'd personally lean towards a nice spec DB11 or 4.0 Vantage vs. a Conti GT, and get a test drive of both. I think the Aston would feel more special, but the Conti actually be a better GT car.

I've started to research the Vantage as a potential next car. Personally I'd go for a well optioned 2018/19 car for that budget as the OPF muted the fun somewhat from some time in 2020. I've not read of any major reliability issues but noted corrosion to the leading edge of the wheelarch on a 2018 car I viewed at a main dealer.

I thought the AMG GT used to be cheaper than the Vantage, but an S with the same power as the Aston looks to be similar money. Based on that I'd go Vantage and accept it will probably cost more to maintain. I believe the facelift 2018 on AMG has an OPF.
