Land Cruiser F250 FE

My 2p FWIW.
I was on the list for the FE as a former Hilux and current (then) 150 series owner but missed out. I was later offered the non-FE edition but passed. It sounds a bit superficial but I hate black interiors on cars. I know the FE was mostly dark, but the brown seats at least lifted it a bit. I had hoped once the initial hype had died off there would have been some expanded options, colours etc, but no. I preferred the white roof and round headlights of the FE over the standard model. It also didn't feel like (beyond the styling) much of an improvement over the 150 series. Same engine & box, same power & performance, same capabilities, same seating configuration, but without the rear air suspension.
I liked and respected my 150 series but never loved it. I tried to convince myself it was 'better' than other options and in many ways it was, but in some ways it was way behind the times in some ways. Unlike the typical large SUV buyer, mine do get regularly used off-road and for towing. Anyway, long story short I went back to Land Rover and bought a FFRR. Honestly night and day in terms of power, comfort, NVH, etc. I never considered the Defender, honestly I just don't like them despite (or maybe because of) being a lifelong Land Rover fan. But those I know who have them seem to like them and there isn't a huge difference in comfort and performance between the FFRR/D5/Defender anyway. I guess it just comes down to which one you feel fits you better.
TL,DR; I wouldn't pay £70k for a FE (especially a used one), I'd buy a Land Rover.
Edit - I just noticed you have an X3, an obviously very road-biased SUV. I would definitely recommend you drive a LC before making a decision as it will feel very different. They are optimised for off-road use and quite compromised on it.
