Removing PPF on a 2 year old McLaren...........

Make your own assessment. Bad paint on a £200k McLaren or poor PPF that was done at a pro shop? We assumed the owner of a McLaren didnt go to any back street shop for his PPF.

Paint issue, not PPF.
Paint wasn't brilliant from the factory on 12C and who knows how many 'blow overs' it's had in its life, I'm going to say 2+.

One of the inherent risks of removing PPF, regardless of age of car or PPF.

Perhaps I should reconsider having my 17MY V8 Vantage S PPF´ed?

I would really like to know how many years the PPF had been on that car? More than ten - as has been suggested - seems a good guess to me.

After how many years does - even modern - PPF have to be removed lest it bonds terminally with the paintwork? Any experiences?

Could just be a poor job removing it.


PPF is very difficult to remove but when done right, it’s not impossible.


Have removed PPF from a GT40, which was almost glued on. Takes a lot of time and patience.
