Darktable / Lightroom

I've finally given Adobe the middle finger and installed Darktable last night and imported my pics.... Will I need a few double whiskeys to proceed ? Will I be going back to Lightroom ?

There's a lot to learn.

I've just started using it and at first sight it seems to give me everything I need. The UI is not as intuitive to me, but other opinions are available.

I'd be interested as to how you get on.

I did the move from Lightroom to Darktable a few years back as I had the local installed LR version on an ancient mac laptop. I don't use it for library management, mainly for bulk/quick editing. Find darktable way harder to use and relied on the video tutorials online to setup workflows, although not sure I'd remember how to do it all after a few months gap. I'm not going back to LR but am keeping an eye out for another alternative, need to check out photopea which sounds promising.

Mmm.... Well it's pretty good imported 160k pics no problem and it's fast !

But .... It's just not Lightroom :-( I think given the time I could get used to it ... I'm not going to bin it off yet..

Discovered it doesn't like HEIC pics though and I have a few k of them.
