What are your 10 favourite cars and why?

No ownership necessary but what are your 10 favourite cars and why?
Of the ones that I have owned but would love to own again.
1) Peugeot 205, specifically the GTis but they were all pretty great weren't they? Stylish, practical, cheap to run, reliable. Most of my contemporaries in the late 90s had Fiestas and Metros as their first car because they were cheap but a lot of us wanted a 205. A 205 GTi 1.9 would be the perfect "time machine" back to my late teens/early 20s and just the coolest thing, so I don't really care if it wouldn't see which way a modern hot hatch went. It's not how fast it goes, it's how it makes you feel.
2) BMW 3-Series (E30), specifically the 325i. The first "proper" car for a lot of me and my mates when we had grown out of hatchbacks and the first foray into RWD and decent power but it was the aspirational car to have in the 80s, well built, desirable in all its forms (saloon, coupe, Touring, convertible), you probably owned a Ford or a Vauxhall but you wanted an E30. E30 M3 was the coolest M3 too, if not the best.
3) Volkswagen Golf. A solid choice throughout its history but specifically the mk7 as a brilliant car in all its forms: petrol, diesel, electric, hybrid. Well built, practical, reliable, well equipped, comfortable, good to drive, possibly "peak" family hatchback/estate. My last one was only a humble TSI but I still loved it. I will own another and ping between a GTD, GTE or GTI but probably a manual GTI Performance.
4) Subaru Impreza Turbo (GC). I possibly lust after a Delta Integrale Evo a bit more but the Impreza GC was more my era and a much better car to be brutally honest. Better chassis, faster, more reliable, better built and it gave both Colin McRae and Richard Burns their WRC titles. I would love a P1 or an RB5 but would be perfectly happy with another late GC Turbo.
And the ones that I have not owned but would love to.
5) Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio - the perfect cool "family" car?
6) Aston Martin V12 Vantage - perfect looks and that glorious NA V12
7) Ferrari F355 GTS manual - still my "dream" car 30 years later and yes, I have actually driven one!
8) Jaguar XJR - I've never been much of a big luxury saloon kind of guy but I've always loved the XJ and would love to own one one day. Probably an X308, so sleek and elegant.
9) Mercedes-Benz SL (R129) - So classy and well engineered. "Peak" era Mercedes-Benz? Probably an SL500 but an SL320 would still be lovely.
10) Ford Capri 2.8i Special/280 Brooklands - My (slightly) guilty pleasure as I know there are probably better fast Fords (RSs/STs/Cosworths) out there but even though they were a bit of a 70s throwback and became a bit unfashionable in the mid-80s, I always hankered after one since seeing a shiny black Special when I was 4/5 and thinking that it was just the coolest car I'd ever seen! The car that I could have got instead of the 325i when they were cheap but didn't.
So that's my favourite 10 cars for now. A few honourable mentions.
I might have said E39 M5 over the Alfa if they were a bit newer.
MINI Cooper S is my 2nd favourite hot hatch after the 205 GTi, I really like the idea of the mk7 Fiesta ST too but I've never driven one.
An S1 Lotus Elise 111S (has to be a K-Series-engined car) is always a car that I have lusted after but has never really fitted into my life.
A Lamborghini Miura/S1 E-Type/Jensen Interceptor/Carrera GT/McLaren F1, I'm never going to experience let alone own, so they miss out on the top 10.

I had a couple of 2.8i Capris in the 80s because I couldn't afford 3 Series BMWs, but I'm sure I'd be underwhelmed by one now.
Anyway in no particular order
1) MK2 Golf GTi 16V. I had a tired leggy one in the 90s which I really liked, so a good one ought to be great fun.
2) Manual Toyota Supra Turbo A80.
3) Maserati Quattrporte V with the Auto. I got to drive a couple at Millbrook back in 2008 and loved the soundtrack.
4) Monteverdi 375L
5) Jensen Interceptor, ideally one of those retromods ones.
6) BMW Z4M Coupe because I have one and love it.
Moving on to dreamland
7) Ferrari 275 GTB/4 because they are just stunning
8) Ferrari GT40, although a 288 GTO would do!
9) McLaren F1
10) GMA T33

10's a big number. In no particular order.....
Lexus LFA. The epitome of a well engineered supercar.
Honda NSX. Senna.
Mitsubishi Evo. Had mine for 23 years. Never driven a road car better equipped to run rings around anything else it encounters.
Gordon Keeble. We had one in the family in the 70s, the only old car I'm interested in.
Audi R8 V10 manual. Had 2 R8s, epic things.
Mk1 Toyota MR2. Had mine for a decade, wonderful balance and adjustability.
Mk1 Scirocco GTI. Memories of my Dad.
R5 GT Turbo. I had one drive and I was smitten.
Lexus ISF. I owned one for a couple of years and wish I still had it. Great noise, and magic on the right road.
Lotus Elan M100 S2. Wanted one for more than a decade, just never found the right car. Yet.

In the order they spring to mind:
1. MGB GT - The best car outright in terms of value for money. So cheap to buy, so cheap to run, so much fun to own.
2. Lotus Elite (Type 14)
3. AC Ace
4. Jaguar XK120 Coupe - More beautiful than the e-type and probably the most beautiful car ever in my mind
5. Austin 7 ‘Ulster’ - Everything about them is fun.
6. Ferrari 360 - Peak Ferrari design in my opinion
7. Ferrari F50 - The engine noise!
8. Ducati Desmosedici RR (2008) - Absolutely not a car, yet more incredible than most cars in existence. An engineering masterpiece.
9. Ford Fiesta MK4 - Yes, I said that. One of the best cars of the people ever designed. A classic. Especially with the four spoke alloys.
10. Jaguar XJ220 - My childhood dream.

Carrera GT - pinnacle car imo
250 SWB - just so pretty
Zonda - sounds, crazy looks
F50 - for the engine
Spot 5 keeps changing, but usually F1 GTR or XJR-15 - for the race car vibe
Places 6-10 keep changing and are the more useable cars
Singer Classic to my spec - pretty and useable
2.7 RS - I suspect they are great to drive on a country road
993 GT - looks and old school turbo
that 550 LM road car that was built in c 2004 by a UK shop - lighter, meaner 550. Must be good to drive
Carrera GT - pinnacle car imo
250 SWB - just so pretty
Zonda - sounds, crazy looks
F50 - for the engine
Spot 5 keeps changing, but usually F1 GTR or XJR-15 - for the race car vibe
Places 6-10 keep changing and are the more useable cars

Good question, like others it would probably change tomorrow but 10 of my favourite cars in no order. Could probably have done 20 as there's a few that missed out.
F430 - I was about 12 when it was released so to me is what a Ferrari should be.
F355 - Looks and sounds great, plus "more than you can afford pal, Ferrari"
F12 TDF - V12 Ferrari and I think better looking than the 812 Competizione.
I could have had a list of my top 10 Ferrari's but I'll move on to some others.

E46 M3 - I've had a few BMW's, no M car yet but to me this is the best one. Should have got one years ago instead of 2 x E90 318i's
996 Turbo - I never liked Porsche but these have grown on me and due to my age are what I think of when someone says 911
Jag F Type SVR - Best looking new car for a while and sounds great.
Ariel Atom - A bit mad but in the best way.
R56 Cooper S JCW - only car on the list I've owned or drove apart from 6 miles in a F430. I loved it, it was like a 200hp go kart, plus i needed a hot hatch on the list.
AMG GT - Coupe not the hatchback that looks like every other Mercedes. Not usually a Mercedes fan but I think these look great.
F430 - I was about 12 when it was released so to me is what a Ferrari should be.
F355 - Looks and sounds great, plus "more than you can afford pal, Ferrari"
F12 TDF - V12 Ferrari and I think better looking than the 812 Competizione.
