MY27 992.2 Turbo S cab
Discussion
Hi Folks
Collected my new Turbo S cab late last week, and thought I would post a few pics and very early impressions compared to my previous 992.1 Turbo S cab.
Firstly, a shock to the system for me as I have not had a sporty black car since my series 2 Escort RS Turbo way back in 1991....i always go for bright colours. I appreciate there shall be a lot of people do not like the full triple black of paint, interior and wheels, but hey ho.
The yellow belts, stitching, dials and calipers adds a bit of contrast.
I went a wee bit nuts with the spec, adding a few carbon bits such as aerokit, rear diffuser, wheels, mirrors, air intakes, illuminated cills and interior bits.
The car somehow feels a bit more solid than the last one, with simple stuff like the doors sounding more solid when shutting, and absolutely no creaks unlike previous.
Dashboard being digital is a big difference and pretty cool.
I assume dampers have been altered also, as it soaks up bumps etc with noticeably more ease.
Gearchange is vastly different; its so smooth and almost undetectable, and doesn't hang in low gears at low speeds which annoyed me with previous PDKs.
Drive is the biggest surprise; as been mentioned by all that have reviewed this before, there is effectively no lag and no hesitation on hard or soft acceleration either on urban roads or motorways.
Nothing groundbreaking compared to previous reviews, but just thought I would post for anyone getting one, or considering getting one.
Only gripe is the front numberplate is mounted at the factory now, with the fixings pretty near the edges of the mount, so if being removed to fit a shorter private plate, there shall be exposed holes requiring to be filled.
So far, I have only had the chance to drive for less than 200miles, but although the 992.1 Turbo S is an amazing bit of kit, its very noticeable how they have moved this on.
Unfortunately, the price has also moved on dramatically, but all in all, im very impressed so far.
