I was sorry to read that Esther Rantzen had lost her battle with cancer.

We undertook some work for her a few years ago, she was friendly, always impeccably dressed and personally made our guys multiple cups of tea - From my relatively limited exposure to her, I would say that she withheld her screen persona of being a considerate and warm person - It would do planet earth no harm to have a few more of her type zipping about.

RIP

Agree. However, there are plenty of her type around, they're just not in the news.

She tried (and failed) to change the assisted dying bill, a smart lady with a big heart. RIP

Sorry to say she also lost her battle for a change to the assisted dying bill also, as the ghouls who love people to suffer for their religious beliefs wouldn't have it.

She always seemed to be a good sort who tried to use her influence for good causes.

Sad news, but on a PH theme it did remind me of the That's Life rusty Lancia club.

This brings a smile to my face. She was totally a rusty Lancia kind of lass!

I enjoyed seeing her on telly, been a while though. Last probably on C4 First Dates, a decade ago.

Hope she managed to pass with the peace and dignity that she was fighting to win for others.

I think overall she was a good egg.

But IIRC she admitted that even as one of the most powerful people at the BBC, she kept some pretty horrible secrets.

Sadly that really changed my opinion of her.

Her stance on unvaccinated people changed mine.

I think if she were a fit and healthy pensioner, she would have campaigned against assisted dying.
