Winter - ITV Series
Discussion
I'd watched the trailer and was open minded about the first episode coming on. Overall not too bad with a nice cameo from a BGT with original Rostyles on. The mortuary was a bit different. I believe a lot of it was shot in Belgium, rather than Bristol.
I have to admit the actual case seemed a bit rushed to conclude before the end of the episode and as a forensic pathologist, he got a bit too involved in the legwork that DI Lauren Bell was doing.
Acting and plots seems OK otherwise, a reasonable bit of light watching mid-week (excluding the post-mortem bits!)'

Really wanted to like this but... it's total crap isn't it?? Kind of a pound shop Silent Witness with Winter playing both characters and doing the police's job for them (which to be fair was a criticism of Silent Witness also!).
The janky constant flashback thing for people that are not really watching but are on their phones really grated as did the complete lack of regard for any kind of realism. He abseiled down a well into a crime scene for no reason and touched the body with no gloves on. I suspect he'd be in for a meeting with no tea and biscuits if he tried that in real life, but no "he's a maverick that gets results..." or rather a tired old trope that's been done better a million times - honestly the more I think about it, the more ridiculous it gets.
