France - School Riots
Discussion
Seems our Gallic cousins are off again.

From what I've read, so far 65 school staff have been injured, including 40 headteachers. And around 2k arrests to date.
Some eye opening clips circulating. Anger really is an energy. Will this work out better for Le Pen or Melenchon? Is law and order now optional, or something to be used to barter for votes?
The scenes from France are quite insane
3000 arrests last night, fire engines destroyed, a fireman set on fire, teachers attacked, schools and churches set on fire
Hundreds injured
One of the videos online shows a Mayor of a Parisian suburb leading the rioters in his area and proclaiming that violence is acceptable to achieve your goals

If it can happen in France it can happen here
It takes very little for the French to coat their local mairie in manure or block the autoroute with tractor tyres. The 'grievances' seem to be - long hours, overcrowding, not enough teachers, no aircon.
So every other school on planet Earth since minute one.
Not really sure where this came from and I doubt the people applying violence do either.
The standard response of the French state won't be helping to calm things down.
Time for RAID again…

There is protesting about a cause and then there is mass civil unrest and completely disproportionate serious crime and violence that has no connection to the ‘cause’. Not sure burning the schools, fire engines, buses, ladies faces and looting Decathlon is quite justified!
They’ll be shouts of unbelievable actions by police against ‘kids’, but these ‘kids’ are doing very adult, serious things that can’t be allowed to carry on. It is disgusting behaviour.
It normally takes a couple of days for things to swing into action to get resources in place for such big disorder and then hopefully the clamp down will come.

The best way of dealing with overcrowding and shortage of teachers is clearly to burn your school down and beat up your teachers

The riots are over and you need to finish your classes and get your qualification. The teacher you beat up is refusing to teach you, or the school has expelled you....
One thing the French can really do well (other than wine and cheese) is rioting. They must be some of the best on the planet. Endlessly doing it and when they do go for it, it's extreme.
Makes the UK side look so unexceptional.
3000 arrests is monumental, not to mention the deaths and other actions.
Could you imagine their reaction to the student loans debacle or the Governments ridiculous u-turn for student fees years back?!

Got to hand it to the BBC, every photo they have on this incident shows white native looking french people. When I first saw this on my social media feed I was uncertain if it was actually France from the videos. Beeb is running live coverage: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cmx2z20vz124t
