Cambelt float? After belt and water pump replacement.

Replaced the cambelt and water pump and all the tensioners on my Volvo v40 2.0 diesel, followed the workshop manual and used the correct tools to lock the pump in place, however, i am getting movement of the belt on the pulleys (camshaft and diesel pump). It isn t trying to walk off but its certainly supposed to run without lateral movement on the pulleys. Can anyone tell me why its happening? Do i just need to physically centre the belt?
