Hi All
Went to see the new i3 today in the flesh - I have to say it is very attractive inside and out!
But.....the key reason for considering this car is the range.
The car was plugged in to a charger in the showroom and was showing 80% Full Battery and the range was just 240 something....which was underwhelming!
The actual milage on the car was 27 miles - any ideas why the range is so low?
The sales chap said when they had an iX3 on the same platform, the range displayed was at least 480+ on a full battery.
Any ideas? Is it some weird algorithm based on the first 27 miles of its young life? :-)
Thanks!
John

Probably just depends how it has been driven so far. You'd have to scroll through and find the consumption average to work it out.
They have a massive battery but the WLTP range used isn't really accurate. This should give you an idea of real world at least.

From the iX3 for the big battery.
Was the showroom i3 you saw the 80kWh or 108kWh version?
If it was the smaller, 80% for that range would be about right realistically.

Thanks! It was the i3 50 xDrive - the launch edition. They have a massive battery but the WLTP range used isn't really accurate. This should give you an idea of real world at least.

Almost certainly based on its driving in those 27 miles and not really sufficient to treat as reliable. On my Tesla I look at percentage rather than the supposed range as it does vary a lot with driving style, city/motorway/temperature etc.
I have one on order, I’ll be able to tell you in a few weeks time
