111s eight months old... One owner from new (Me)..
Anyone traded up to a 111r? I wondered how much cash it will cost, lose on depreciation etc..

Have you driven an R? Just wondered why you want to upgrade after only 8 months?

Drove one at lotus couple of months ago.. Did like it.. Gearbox much better, engine sounds good as well..
Doesn't idle like a ten year old escort van..

Well, I’m able to guess my car has depreciated about 4 or 5K since purchased new in May – I’d expect to pay around £26K for a low mileage 111R. I guess your best bet would be to trade against a 2nd hand 111R rather than a new one…

Quick search says £275 for stage 1, £375 for stage 2. I'd bet it was a stage 1, which is better for track use, if not as grin-inducing.

Mate you need to buy one it will blow your mind, very different to the 111s,when the car gets to about the 6000 revs, thats where the fun biggins it is awsome, the only thing is i am used to the power and i want more, thats why i have just ordered the exige cup super charger,go for it

Thanks sja and kevin ritson, looks like a good deal there. Am looking at one of these (111r) or a CSL for the track.. CSLs are a lot of car for the £££ right now IMO.

Well 111S is staying.. According to dealer they have taken another big drop so an 05 reg March 1st 111s (hard top, touring pack etc) 5000 miles, now worth approx £19,000 to £20000 max..

So look like I'm keeping it..

I reckon you'll see £1.5K to that price when spring rolls round next year. Not everybody buys the Elise for the drive, some people buy it for the roof off sports car experience (Z4 type of driver, why do I hate those cars so much!?) - not exactly a great time of year looking out the window today!

I guess the best time to sell would be when you have a couple of years paid off the finance and the initial new car depreciation has stopped. Not a bad car to be stuck with and it's not going to be that different to the R up to 70mph I guess... though I haven’t driven the S.

That the plan. Finance and depreciation will meet at on point an level off.. If someone can invent a device so the VVC don't sound clattery, they will make a fortune.. Although I did notice when 1stPetrol drove off in mine yesterday it sounded ok.. Its just when sitting in it its noisy.. So maybe once exhaust sorted I'll be happy

You won't notice it when your larini is on. even at idle, i can barely hear the sewing machine effect any more, especially with the roof off.
